Your old tub gets pulled out and hauled away as part of the job, so there's no separate disposal to arrange on your end. In its place goes a new wall system and shower pan, built to fit the room you already have rather than a room you'd have to gut. The tub rim goes with it. What's left is a low threshold you walk straight across instead of stepping up and swinging a leg over. If you want a bench seat, grab bars or a handheld head on a slide bar, those get placed where you actually want them, decided with you before anything gets cut.

Most conversions land inside a one to three day window from the first cut to the final bead of caulk. How long yours takes depends on the room, whether any plumbing needs to move, and which finish you've picked. Full removal and haul-away

A sealed wall system and shower pan go in where the tub used to be, built to the room's real dimensions.
A threshold you can walk over
The tub rim disappears. In its place is a low step-in entry, not a rim to climb.

A bench seat, grab bars, or a handheld head on a slide bar go where you ask for them, not just where a code minimum says.
